Product overview

Flat-Weave Aluminium Modular Sofa

Low flat-weave modules that reconfigure from a three-seater into a corner group.

A deliberately low silhouette that suits architect-designed terraces where a tall back would block the view. Modules clip together, so the same pieces work as a long sofa against a wall or as a corner group around a table. The flat-weave strap dries faster than rope and is easier to wipe down after a season of sunscreen and salt.

The AL-SF-5102 measures 240 × 75 × 66 cm overall. Key figures: 3-seater size 240 × 75 × 66 cm, corner unit 200 × 75 × 66 cm, armchair size 78 × 75 × 66 cm, ottoman 70 × 70 × 45 cm, shipped 1 set / 4 cartons at a net weight of 52 kg. Small changes to any of these numbers can be quoted from a drawing, so a project does not have to be built around whatever a catalogue happened to list.

The questions buyers ask about aluminium seating are always the same: does the coating flake, does the weave sag, and does it get hot. All three come down to specification. We chromate pre-treat before powder coating so the finish keys into the metal chemically rather than sitting on the surface, we jig-weld 1.5–2.0 mm wall tube so the weave cannot pull the frame out of square, and we keep the load-bearing surfaces woven or cushioned rather than solid metal so guests are not touching a hot panel at midday.

Weight matters more than buyers expect. An aluminium sofa is roughly a third of the weight of the same teak section, which means one member of staff can reset a terrace layout in the morning instead of two — and it also means wind becomes the constraint rather than floor loading. For exposed rooftops and seafront decks we offer weighted base options and will tell you plainly when a frame needs ballast.

Where it works

Typical applications

Where buyers are putting the AL-SF-5102 to work.

Seafront and beach club

Salt air attacks steel and untreated metal. Powder-coated aluminium with stainless fixings handles spray without rust streaks on pale decking.

Rooftop terrace and sky bar

Light enough for one member of staff to reset the layout after an event, without the floor-loading questions a heavy timber set raises.

Balcony and apartment project

Bulk orders for developer handover where each unit gets the same set and nobody wants a maintenance call-back.

Villa covered terrace

Deep seating that can stay out through a wet winter without a cover schedule or an annual oiling weekend.

Material & build

How the AL-SF-5102 is made

A deliberately low silhouette that suits architect-designed terraces where a tall back would block the view. Modules clip together, so the same pieces work as a long sofa against a wall or as a corner group around a table. The flat-weave strap dries faster than rope and is easier to wipe down after a season of sunscreen and salt.

Material: Powder-coated aluminium frame, flat-weave HDPE strap, quick-dry foam cushions in solution-dyed acrylic.

Every AL-SF-5102 is cut, welded, chromate pre-treated and powder-coated on PatioHue Outdoor's own line in Foshan, and the rope or strap is woven by hand in the same building. Nothing is subcontracted when volumes get tight — which is why a repeat frame two years later still matches the first one.

Chromate Pre-Treatment

Chemical keying before powder coating — this is what stops the finish flaking at weld edges in year three.

1.5–2.0 mm Wall Tube

Contract-grade wall thickness, jig-welded and kept square, so the weave cannot work loose around the frame.

Export Packing

Roughly a third of the weight of a teak equivalent, foam-wrapped with corner protection in drop-tested cartons.

Any RAL Colour

Custom powder colour from a single RAL number, with a repeat order that matches years later.

Buyer's notes

What to check before ordering

  • Weave type decides maintenance: rope reads warmer and hides scuffs, flat strap dries faster and is easier to wipe down.
  • Seat depth of 55–60 cm is comfortable for lounging; anything shallower reads as dining furniture rather than lounge seating.
  • For exposed or windy sites ask about weight or ballast options — aluminium is light, which is an advantage indoors and a question outdoors.
  • Ask whether modules clip together or are fixed. Clip-together modules let the same stock serve both a wall run and a corner group.
  • Ask for touch-up paint in the order. A pallet scuff is a two-minute repair on site, but it needs the exact same coating colour.

Care and maintenance

Cushion covers zip off and can be spot-cleaned with mild soap, and the reticulated cores drain quickly, but storing them dry over a long off-season will extend their life by years. Check that all bolts are snug at the start of each season — aluminium does not corrode, but a bolt loosened by vibration still needs a quarter turn. Touch-up paint is available in the frame colour of your order.

Customisation, OEM and private label

Size, finish, fabric, cushion density can all be adjusted on the AL-SF-5102, and we accept drawings or reference photographs. PatioHue Outdoor builds in-house, so confirming a change takes a workshop decision rather than a chain of suppliers. Private-label cartons, instruction sheets and logo application are available from the stated MOQ.

Packing, shipping and lead time

Ships 1 set / 4 cartons, net weight 52 kg. Standard production runs 25–35 days after deposit depending on quantity and finish, with FOB Shenzhen or Nansha loading. We issue a carton-by-carton loading plan before every shipment so you can book freight against real numbers.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

If your question is not here, message us on WhatsApp — we answer technical questions directly from the workshop.

What are the exact dimensions of the AL-SF-5102?

Flat-Weave Aluminium Modular Sofa measures 240 × 75 × 66 cm overall; the full specification runs 3-seater size 240 × 75 × 66 cm, corner unit 200 × 75 × 66 cm, armchair size 78 × 75 × 66 cm, ottoman 70 × 70 × 45 cm. Net weight is 52 kg and it ships 1 set / 4 cartons. If you need dimensions outside this range, we quote custom sizes from drawings.

What is the minimum order quantity for the AL-SF-5102?

MOQ is 5 sets. Mixed containers are fine — you can combine models across our aluminium sofa sets range, and we will prepare one loading plan for the whole shipment. Sample orders below MOQ are possible at a small premium.

Do you offer OEM, custom sizes and private label?

Yes. Size, finish, fabric and cushion density can all be adjusted, and we accept drawings or reference photos. We can add your logo, produce private-label cartons and documentation. PatioHue Outdoor is the factory, so you are specifying directly with the people who build it.

How much does it weigh compared with teak?

Roughly a third of the weight for the same section — this AL-SF-5102 is 52 kg. That makes repositioning a one-person job and cuts freight per seat, but it also means wind becomes the consideration on exposed rooftops and seafront decks. Tell us the location and we will say plainly whether ballast is needed.

Is aluminium seating strong enough for contract use?

Yes, provided the wall thickness and joints are specified for it. We use 1.5–2.0 mm wall tube and stainless 304 fixings on frames rated for commercial service, and the AL-SF-5102 is built to that standard rather than to retail tolerances. Static load figures can be supplied in writing for your operator or insurance file.

Can we have a custom colour?

Yes — a single RAL number is all we need, applied to the whole frame rather than to panels, which is why a repeat order two years later matches the first without the variation you get when specifying natural timber. Custom powder colours may carry a small minimum quantity depending on the shade.

Can the woven rope be replaced later?

Yes. Rope and strap are woven over the frame rather than injected into it, so damaged sections can be re-woven on site with a repair length and a simple weaving tool. We supply spare rope in the frame colour with production orders and hold it in stock for current models.
